Academic Background
Benedetta is a MA student in International Relations & Affairs at the University of Naples L’Orientale, located in Italy. She holds a degree in International Relations from the University of Naples. Throughout her academic journey, she developed a profound interest in historical studies, with a specific focus on Atlantic History. Captivated by the paradox of the ocean—a space that simultaneously divides and unites—she adopts a critical, multidisciplinary, and cross-cultural approach to historical analysis. Rather than limiting her research to a terrestrial or Eurocentric perspective, she integrates the diverse viewpoints of various global actors. Her primary research interest lies in examining how distinct cultural and historical backgrounds shape collective worldviews. More specifically, her work investigates how nations with contrasting historical trajectories perceive identical historical phenomena—such as the Haitian Revolution—and how they interpret the complex networks of interconnectedness generated by the Atlantic world.
