Why Written in the Waves?
Claire is an East Coaster through and through: born and raised in New Brunswick, and frequently going back to Newfoundland, where their parents were born. The Atlantic region of Canada and the histories of those who live there have long been neglected by academia. In the broader context of Canadian history, this region often serves as no more than a footnote. This project provides a space for these long-neglected stories to finally be told, for the diversity of voices from the Atlantic region to finally be heard.
